Registration for the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon 2025
- November 6th at 12:00 (GMT) - Registration opens for 2025 race
- November 13th at 00:00 (GMT) - Registration closes for 2025 race
- November 20th at 12:00 (GMT) - Announcement who got tickets for the 2025 race
- November 20th-27th - refund will be paid to those who did not receive a ticket
- December 30th - Last day to receive 75% refund
- March 1st - Last day to receive 50% refund
- June 8th - Last day to change estimated finishing time.
- July 12th - The Laugavegur Ultra takes place!
What is included in the ticket:
- Long sleeve shirt from 66°North.
- Surveillance and security measures.
- Water and energy drinks at refreshment stations located in Hrafntinnusker, Alftavatn, Emstrur, and Ljosa.
- Drinks and refreshment at the finish line.
- Toilet facilities at Hrauneyjar, Landmannalaugar, Hrafntinnusker, Alftavatn, Emstrur, and Husadalur in Thorsmork.
- Transport of luggage to Blafjallakvisl and to Husadalur in Thorsmork.
- Event medal, winner’s medal, age category winner’s medals, team winner’s medal.
- Showers (divided by gender) and shelter for changing at Husadalur in Thorsmork (please save the water so everyone can take a shower).
- Services of a doctor and nursing staff at Emstrur on the way and Husadalur in Thorsmork as necessary.

- A bracelet that runners will be issued with and must wear in the competition to gain access to the facilities available.

Signing up for the race
You must confirm your email address signing up for the race, you will receive an email from Corsa with a confirm button. When the registration is open and available a button will appear on the home page.
Payment arrangements
During the registration process, you can choose to pay the participation fee with all major types of payment cards and/or a gift certificate. After registration, the person will be sent an email to confirm the registration. If you do not receive mail, your registration has not been successful.
Payment on the participation fee
Runners who are not assigned a registration on November 20th and go on a waiting list will have their card refunded by November 27th.
* ÍBR charges an administration fee of ISK 13,750 when processing the application of those who enter the race, this is part of the registration fee. This part of the fee is non-refundable (for those who enter the race).
Processing of applications
After the application deadline, ÍBR employees review the ITRA runners' General performance index by running together the ITRA database and the Laugavegur race registration system to confirm that all runners have 370 ITRA performance Index or higher. If the applicant does not intend to use the registration he has been allocated and paid for, they shall notify ÍBR by sending an e-mail to info@marathon.is. It is not possible to change the registration from one name to another, nor to transfer the registration to the next year.
Cancelling and Refund
If you want to request a refund you will need to send us an e-mail to info@marathon.is. We will need your full name and address to confirm that you are not taking part. Those participants that cancel their registration will not be able to get the race package. We encourage everyone that decides later on not to take part to let us know.
ITRA
To be eligible to register for the Laugavegur Ultra marathon runners need to have 370 ITRA performance index. The runners with the highest ITRA performance index will get secured tickets for the race, evenly divided between all genders. Other runners will go in the lottery. It's important that all information about the ITRA scoring is clear and correct.
No ITRA points?
Attention runners unable to collect ITRA score. We are aware that some countries do not offer any events that give an ITRA score and we are trying our best to accommodate that. Please contact us at info@marathon.is to learn how you can register for the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon. We still require that you have participated in a similar trail run in the past 36 months that will prove that you are able to complete a 55 K in less than 9 hours and 15 minutes.
