    The race bus

    Runners can buy a seat on the race bus from Reykjavik to the start of the race in Landmannalaugar and back from Husadalur in Thorsmork to Reykjavik. Here you can find information about bus reservations, estimated bus schedules and more

    Pace groups and race bibs

    Participants will be sorted into five start groups according to their estimated finish time. The fastest runners start first. Participants will be given a colored race number that indicates their pace group. Here you can find more information about the pace groups and the start schedule

    Route

    The Laugavegur course is one of the most beautiful in Iceland, stretching from Landmannalaugar in the highlands to Thorsmork, a natural reservation area. The trail is clearly designated with markers and there will be a staff along the course to guide runners along the trail. Detailed route descriptions can be found on this page.     Luggage

    We offer a service where we travel with participants luggage, both to the finish line and to Bláfjallakvísl. Here you can find more information about luggage

    Timing and the cut-off time

    Automatic timing will be used in the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon 2024. Participants in the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon should be able to finish the race in less than 9 hours and 15 minutes. All participants that leave the drinking station by the Alftavatn lake cabin (22 km) after the 4 hours cut off time or leave the drinking station by Emstrur cabin (38 km) after the 6 hours and 30 minutes cut off time cannot continue the race with no exceptions.     Service on the route

    Here you can find information about refreshment stations, toilets and other services offered on the route

    Family and friends

    Family and friends are of course welcome to come to Húsadalur and greet runners at the finish line. Tickets can be bought here for relatives who want to go from Reykjavík to Húsadalur

    Prizes

    All runners that finish the race will receive a prize medal. The first three male, female and non-binary finishers will receive special prizes and also winners in age groups and team competitions
